Poems about Dreams

Dreams are full of beautiful and interesting images. We read Fantasy by Gwendolyn Bennett and discussed how our dreams often put strange things in our minds while we sleep. The students wrote poems based on dreams they had, or even made up!

Jericho
K

I dreamed that
All of my rabbits
Were tickling me
They were jumping
And took me
To the clouds
All the bunnies
Went to the ground again
Except for one!

Jeremiah
K

I had a dream
An elephant
And a dinosaur
Came out of my TV
The dinosaur tore everything
Off my bookshelf
And ate my Poppa

Ariel
K

I dreamed about
Living in heartland
Hearts were raining down
And I caught all of them

Carson W
K

I had a dream
That I was strong
Enough to pick
Up a mountain

Jasmine
K

I dreamed that Tinkerbell
Was flying in my house
And my brother
Knocked her down
We made a castle
For her to be the Queen
Mrs. Davis, 1st grade

Arinola

Mermaids were all around me
In the sea
They thought I was Queen
So they made me Queen

Bryant

Me and some teeth
We got in the hot tub
I put the teeth in my mouth
And they jumped out
I had to chase them
For two hours

Micaiah W

My dream is about
When me and Theodor
Were dancing on stage
And I kept him as a pet
So we could sing together
But I couldn’t
Because they kicked me
Out of the house

Jalen L

Taylor’s mom
And my dad
Got married
And it was in
A castle
And me
And Taylor
Were the flower girls
And my brother
Was the ring boy
And then Micaiah came
And all three of us
Went happy ever after
And moved in together
And we fell back
In the limo

Avia
1st

I had a dream
That I was a princess
And I had pink eyes
And flower slippers
And there was a royal
Pecan turkey
And I saw a prince
As a dog
And I had purple hair
